I interviewed Hazen staff on their unpopular opinions. It’s important to share opinions in the modern day and I bet a lot of people wonder what their teachers think about modern culture,
Here are their answers.
Q: To Reward a healthy diet many enjoy a guilty pleasure food, what’s your guilty pleasure?
A: “Something that I know is not good for me, but I enjoy is peanut butter and chocolate chips.” -Mr. Svenson
A: “Ice cream; my dad and I used to get up in the middle of the night and eat ice cream shakes.” -Ms. Schroeder
A: “Gummy bears; I could eat like five hundred.” -Ms. Gollegly
A: “Taro frozen yogurt.”- Ms. Moore
Q: Music has always been a big part of teen culture, what are your thoughts on modern music currently, any musicians that you like or dislike? Why?
A: “I like a lot of types of music, but not Pop (music). It’s just too cheesy for me, But I do listen to a lot of Heavy Metal.” -Mr. Svenson
A: “The late nineties was the last time I listened to pop music.” -Ms. Schroeder
A: “Today’s music has very high input, It’s a lot.”- Ms. Moore
Q: This has to be brought up, what is your opinion on Taylor Swift?
A: “She is a marketing genius, though her price of tickets is outrageous.”

A: “I like Taylor Swift despite what others say.”– Ms. Gollegly
A: “I am not a Swifty, I like some of the songs but I don’t go out of my way to listen to them.”-
Ms. Moore
Q: Lots of formats have come and gone over the years, Do you still prefer physical over digital music, if so what format?
A: “Digital mostly, because I used to have hundreds of records, but I just don’t have much space anymore, though it makes it feel more special when I do get a physical copy.” -Mr. Svenson
A: “I guess digital, I still have a stereo, but I don’t use it much.” -Ms. Schroeder
A: “Digital, though I miss the days where the lyrics were at the back, but I still sometimes buy records.” Ms. Gollegly
A: “Spotify, but I prefer CDs.”- Ms. Moore
Q: Many TV shows over the years have influenced pop culture. What TV show do you strongly dislike? What is a show that you would recommend?
A: “Most of the Marvel shows right now are pretty trash, but what takes the spot of Marvel shows for me is Reacher.” – Mr. Svenson
A: “Fox News, it spreads misinformation, and one that I would recommend is Ancient Aliens, I find it very fascinating.”- Ms. Schroeder
A: “I thought Euphoria was too dark for me with all of them taking drugs, I like Young Sheldon.’’– Ms. Gollegly
A: “I like Chicago Med, but prefer older TV.”– Ms. Moore
Q: Lots of trends have come and gone over the years, what is a current trend that you see as ridiculous
A: “They always put the same song on Youtube Shorts and it makes me mad, I don’t like how social media is making us have short attention spans which is making us dumber.” -Mr Svenson
A: “I don’t know many social media trends, though I find most social media as annoying and just not worth it, i think you should enjoy your memories in real-time.”- Ms. Schroeder
A:¨Kia boys, like stealing cars is bad and stupid and usually those who have Kias are not rich, so it’s just stealing from a person who can’t replace it.”-Ms. Gollelgy
A: “Devious licks, it was just vandalism.”-Ms. Moore
Social media may be evil, sugar is good, Marvel shows are at their lowest, and alien history at its highest. Records may have become a novelty. This was a piece of mind of The Hazen staff, though some might not see these as unpopular opinions, but that’s in the eye of the beholder.
