As fans eagerly anticipate the return of Netflix’s hit series Bridgerton, the beloved period drama promises to continue its captivating blend of romance, scandal, and intrigue in its highly anticipated third season. Bridgerton revealed that season three will be released in two parts. Part one was released on May 16 and part two is set to release on June 13. Building on the success of the first and second seasons, Bridgerton season three is held to very high expectations. The wait to keep up with the members of the ton and new issues of Lady Whistledown is almost over. Based on the trailer they’ve given us so far, here’s a glimpse of what to expect:
New Characters
The trailer Bridgerton released began with Lady Bridgerton walking with her daughter Francesca Bridgerton who was previously played by Ruby Stokes and was re-casted by Hannah Dodd. They are walking towards the queen and Francesca is wearing a white feather headpiece which means one thing- she is a debutante this season, which means she is ready for courtship. We have not seen much of her character in the first two seasons but we know the Bridgerton children always have success during the social season. Another character that was introduced was Lord Debling. In the trailer, Lady Danbury mentioned he was eager to find a wife this season. The next scene is Penelope dancing with him. It seems that Lord Debling is a promising suitor for Penelope’s hand. Knowing the nature of Bridgerton, only time will tell the scandal and drama these new characters will get themselves into, and Lady Whistledown will be the first to inform us.
New Romance
If you’ve watched since the beginning, you know that Penelope has always been in love with Colin. He’s brushed her off more times than we can count but it looks like this season things are about to change. In the trailer, he offers to help Penelope find a husband but as they spend more time together he seems to be falling for her. On the other hand, we’re introduced to Lord Debling, who has taken quite an interest in Penelope. Colin looks very jealous when they are together which gives the fans a clear indication of his feelings towards Penelope. Based on the trailer, we can finally witness the insane chemistry that Penelope and Colin share. Fans will be happy as they’ve given Colin and Penelope the ship name Polin on numerous social media platforms. That leaves the fans and the members of the ton wondering which suitor she’ll choose.
Drama/Scandal
If you can recall from the ending of season two, Eloise and Penelope, who used to be attached at the hip, faced a falling out. Eloise discovered that Penelope was Lady Whistledown and felt extremely betrayed because in one of Lady Whistledown’s letters, she wrote nasty things about Eloise that smeared her reputation as a woman and as a Bridgerton. While Penelope did that to protect her, Eloise stormed off and vowed never to speak to her again. Fast forward to season three, Eloise is seen walking in the arms of Cressida Cowper as Penelope watches from a distance. This was very shocking because Eloise and Penelope would always make fun of Cressida by calling her ill-mannered and the way she acted around eligible suitors.
As fans have already started their countdown for the release of Bridgerton Season Three, they can rest assured that the series will deliver all the romance, drama, and intrigue they’ve come to love. Bridgerton is poised to captivate audiences once again as it continues to reign supreme as one of Netflix’s most beloved series.
