From Korea to Japan there have been many rising stars throughout the Asian underground scene. The most prominent individuals coming out of Korea are all frequent collaborators being Effie, Kimj, The Deep, and SEBii. They have all gained individual success building off of the hyperpop/electroclash sound often borrowing motifs from 2000s-2010s rave culture. There is a
Effie is one of the most exciting names that has emerged, creating hyper-enthusiastic playful music. Her distinct vocals separate from the often lively production creating an atmosphere that builds the world of Effie.

Kimj is another notable name in the Korean music scene being the primary producer for most of the underground. He takes heavy inspiration from early works of Skrillex combining the new age of soft rap with aggressive EDM creating the modern day Korean sound.

The Deep is a fusion of electropop and kpop leaning more towards the latter. Her sound is a lot more digestible than others in the scene, having built a bright and colorful world through her image.

SEBii is a rapper/producer in the hyperpop scene creating his own sound through high pitched vocals and his distinct production.

Extra Small is a duo consisting of Jae Han and Levy who create electroclash music often collaborating with others in the underground scene. Their sound is reminiscent of others in the scene but not having much music in their discography, it is exciting to see where their future music will lead.

Frost children are THE electronic duo to be aware of when talking about the underground scene. The duo of Angel and Lulu are creating modern classics bouncing from genre to genre, showing their versatility and understanding towards the art of music. The music will be touted as the pioneers of this new sound ten years from now, hypnotizing vocals over punchy bass.

Danny Brown has been making music for over 20 years starting his career rapping over high energy EDM returning to the sound in his newest album Stardust. Although he is not known for electronic music he worked with many younger artists in the scene cementing his name in the space. His signature high pitched voice is instantly recognizable, along with his impeccable rhyming scheme and flow he transcends genres.
